Is it easy to tear with this mattress cover for moving?

I used this on my mattress for moving and duct taped it shut. Slid the mattress across concrete, hauled in a pickup in light rain. Kept my mattress dry and clean. Nice thick plastic that was sturdy enough to grab and pull without fear of ripping!

Can this plastic mattress cover be used to protect against stains?

I needed a completely waterproof bed to cover a memory foam mattress topper and the mattress, because I wouldn’t be able to clean or wash that foam topper everyday. it’s a heavy duty plastic bag and suits our needs.
