Dragon’s Lair Cocoa Smoothie

What do you get when you blend creamy avocado, sweet banana, and CHOCOLATE? A super-tasty drink that tastes a lot like a chocolate-covered banana! It’s so tasty, in fact, that you’ll want to sneak off and hide somewhere to drink it all yourself—like a dragon in their lair!

1. soak + drain + chop + add

Fill a small bowl with warm tap water, add the dates, and let them soak for 10 to 15 minutes to soften them. Drain the water and chop up the dates (ask an adult for help, if needed). Add the dates to the blender.

2. peel + chuck + add

Peel the banana half and chuck it into the blender along with the avocado. Add the milk, cocoa powder, and ice.

3. blend + sprinkle + pour + top

Put the lid on the blender and blend everything together. Sprinkle in the chocolate chips, put the lid back on, and blend again until creamy and thick.

4. pour + sprinkle + enjoy!

Pour the smoothie into glasses, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and enjoy!

What You’ll Need Warm water 2 dates (without pits) 1/2 banana 1/2 avocado, peeled and pitted 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup ice cubes Handful of chocolate chips + more for sprinkling
